New Loves

One of the cool things about my job is getting to play with makeup. I get a kick out of trying new products and introducing them to the cast. My current addiction is Too Faced's Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer. It comes in two great colours, Milk Chocolate and Original Chocolate. It's a smooth matte bronzer, neither plumy nor orangey. Good for many skin tones. Oh! And it smells like yummy yummy cocoa 'cause it is made with real cocoa. Won't lie, I use it on just about everyone who sits in my chair.

Sorry, Benefit Hoola, you have been usurped.

The Complex

Jewel Staite, Ennis Esmer - the LA Complex (season 2) (photo: jndc)

If you watch the show you'll know that Jewel's makeup has been pretty much a no makeup look so far this season but every once in a while we get to play. I had the chance to use some of my favourite reds on her. Pictured above is Howl from Illamasqua. What can I say, I like a good strong red and Jewel wears colour rather well.

Also from Illamasqua Excite blush (on the apple of Jewel's cheeks) and MAC's Prism (as a sort of contour/blush). Oh!- And, of course, Milk Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer for an all over glow/contour. I've also used MAC's Hyper Real Pressed in Warm Rose FX (to highlight upper cheek, temple, under eye, etc etc). All of this on top of Makeup Forever HD Foundation in a 135/115 mix and a Dior pressed powder (I can't recall the name of, ooops. Sorry).
