Fast and Furious

MyPad was a gift from a friend a couple of years ago. He bought it for me to motivate me to sketch on the go as I had often complained that I couldn't seem to find the time. He knows I am a technojunkie and figured it would allow me to indulge in my technology addiction and maybe I would get back to sketching every day.

It worked and then some. I now spend countless hours working 1, 3 and 5 minute quick sketches which I later flesh out. I can also often be found in a corner writing story lines for the comic or, now, blogs. Have I mentioned how wonderful he is!?

Recently I have taken to revisiting some of my old designs and re-working them on myPad. Thing is, I can paint and work the comic now with ease on but I am only now viewing it as a way to work on my fashion designs

The first things I revisited were the corset sketches for a few years ago. I've reworked the shape a bit and added swatches and texture but this is one of my basic shaping sketches on which I build upon using different layers on SketchBook Pro, my fave drawing app to date. It was the first one I bought a couple of years back and, though I have flirted with others, as I developed my iPad skills on it I have a special affinity for it.

The sketch is a little long below the waist but it is a quick sketch, not so bound by such grand ideas as wearability or even feasibility. Maybe this idea is one of the reasons designing outfits for my comic character appeals to me so, they can be as improbable as I wish them to be, they just have to look good.
